FOT Labs revamped their website end to end: replacing a generic, templated design with a high-conversion editorial site built to show exactly what sets them apart.

The Challenge
CGD Group is genuinely one of a kind — not an event-management vendor, but a community and platform that brands partner with to reach a curated, senior audience built over decades. Their previous website didn't say any of that. It was a generic, AI-generated template: stock gradients, filler copy, and a layout interchangeable with a thousand other sites. It made a distinctive company look like a commodity.
Worse, it buried the things that actually win sponsors — the flagship ACSS and SECCON summits, the calibre of the room, the real partner brands — and gave visitors no clear reason or route to take the next step. The brief was simple to say and hard to do: make the site look like the events feel, and make it convert.
What We Did
We rebuilt the site from positioning up — a sharp, editorial design with a conversion-first narrative, so every scroll moves a visitor closer to becoming a sponsor.
Repositioning, Not Just Redesign
We reframed the whole story around what CGD actually is — a community and platform, not an event planner — so the site sells access to a curated audience instead of a generic service.
An Editorial Brand System
A dark, Awwwards-direction design with a CMYK-inspired palette pulled straight from CGD's own logo — confident and distinct, the opposite of a template.
Proof Built Into The Page
Real partner logos, real event photography, and the ACSS & SECCON track record — credibility a visitor can see, replacing stock imagery and vague claims.
Motion With Intent
Smooth scrolling, scroll-triggered reveals, and a drag-through events carousel — premium, restrained motion that makes the page feel alive without getting in the way.
A Single Conversion Path
The structure guides every visitor toward one clear action — becoming a sponsor — with the manifesto, flagship events, and "Why CGD" all feeding a focused call to action.
Fast & Search-Ready
Self-hosted fonts, WebP imagery, semantic markup, structured data, and a clean sitemap — a lightweight build that loads fast and is ready to rank.
The Outcome
CGD Group now has a website with a point of view — one that reads like the editorial of a serious tech-events company, not an off-the-shelf template. The positioning is clear in the first scroll, the proof is impossible to miss, and the whole page pulls toward a single, confident call to action.
